The discourse on moderate Islam in Indonesia has undergone dynamic development in line with the increasing need for inclusive, tolerant, and contextual religious practices. One of the main approaches that has emerged is the concept of Islam Wasatiyah, which is rooted in the teachings of the Quran and Hadith on balance, justice, and avoiding extreme attitudes. This concept was then adopted and developed institutionally by the Indonesian government as part of a strategy for deradicalisation and strengthening social harmony. However, the concept of moderate Islam is not limited to Islam Wasatiyah. Major religious organisations such as Nahdlatul Ulama have developed Islam Nusantara, while Muhammadiyah promotes Progressive Islam. Both concepts have a distinctive approach to Islamic values, local culture, and contemporary challenges. This article aims to compare Islam Wasatiyah with other forms of moderate Islam in Indonesia in terms of concepts, ideological goals, and their application in social life. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature study as the main method. The results show that despite differences in approach and value emphasis, all forms of moderate Islam share the same spirit in building a peaceful Islam that is relevant to the Indonesian national reality.
