Abstract

Cognitive learning theory emphasizes the important role of mental processes in understanding, remembering, and using information. This theory focuses on how students process and organize information, develop understanding, and apply knowledge in real situations. The various key concepts in cognitive learning theory include schemas, information processing, metacognition, and constructivism. In practice in the field, applying this theory involves strategies such as active learning, use of concept maps, scaffolding, and problem-based learning. Teachers act as facilitators who help students build their own knowledge through direct experience and reflection. The use of educational technology also greatly supports the application of this theory, for example with visual aids, interactive simulations and online learning platforms. Research shows that cognitive learning approaches can improve students' understanding and retention of information, as well as their ability to apply knowledge in different contexts. Thus, cognitive learning theory not only provides a strong theoretical foundation, but also offers effective practical strategies for improving the quality of education
